About this plugin
Figma's native layer blur is great, but it can't create direction, rotation, or zoom. This plugin brings the missing Photoshop-grade Radial, Angular (Spin) and Motion tools directly to your canvas, powered by a lightning-fast WebGL engine.
Blur TypesRadial Blur (Zoom). Simulates rushing toward or away from a point (motion graphics, depth of focus).
Spin Blur (Angular). Rotates pixels around a center (energetic, surreal visuals).
Motion Blur (Linear). Smears pixels along a straight line at any angle (speed, movement, directional streaks).
Key FeaturesGPU-Accelerated Rendering — WebGL-powered blur, 5–10× faster. No lag even on large images.
Live Preview — 512px preview with 50%–200% zoom. Drag right on it to set the blur center or motion direction and watch the result update as you go.
Studio-Grade Output — 160 sampling layers, high-precision rendering, proper alpha blending, and anti-banding.
Precise Control — Snap the center to a 5×5 grid, dial in an exact angle (0–359°), set intensity from 0 to 100, or keep the drag origin in focus with optional falloff.
Anaglyph 3D — Optional red/cyan offset on top of any blur for retro depth accents.
Built for Real Files — Layers and frames up to 4096px, no clipping at high values or off-center points, fully keyboard-accessible and dark-mode aware.
Typical Workflow1. Select a layer or frame (≤ 4096px).
2. Pick Radial (Zoom), Spin (Angular), or Motion (Linear).
3. Zoom/Spin: place the blur center by dragging on the preview or picking a grid cell. Motion: drag on the preview to set the direction.
4. Set intensity (0–100) and preview the result in high resolution.
5. Optionally toggle Anaglyph 3D for a retro depth accent.
6. Zoom in/out as needed to inspect details.
7. Apply the blur — undo-friendly and non-destructive.
Perfect ForUI/UX designers, illustrators, social-media creators, or anyone who wants studio-grade motion blurs with instant rendering inside Figma.
Technical DetailsBuilt with TypeScript, Figma Plugin API, WebGL shaders, and Amplitude telemetry for anonymous usage insights. Works in Figma design files (not FigJam).
Changelogv2.2.0- New Motion blur: straight-line streaks at any angle, GPU-accelerated- Set direction by dragging on the preview or with the Direction slider- "Keep drag start sharp" toggle: optional falloff that keeps the drag origin in focus- Square selector replaced by the 5×5 grid plus free dragging on the preview- Full keyboard navigation: blur types, grid cells and slidersv2.1.0- Drag directly on the preview to move the blur center, with live updates as you drag- Square selector is now the primary center control; simplified, clearer center marker- Sharper, near-full-resolution preview while dragging, especially at high intensity- Fixed a size mismatch between the drag preview and the final applied blur- Fixed spin blur's center marker drifting during preview on off-center pointsv2.0.1- Fixed rendering not completing in Safari (image loading now uses a Safari-compatible path)- Fixed radial and spin blur accuracy on non-square images- General blur-quality and dithering consistency improvementsv2.0.0- GPU-accelerated rendering via WebGL for a major performance jump- 160-layer sampling, anti-banding, and improved alpha blending- 512px high-resolution live preview with zoom controls- Grid + Square selector modes, kept in syncHelpTweet/X me @antongridz for feedback and help.
