About this plugin

Figma to Rive (Unofficial) lets you move designs from Figma to Rive without losing editable text.

Instead of exporting SVGs that turn every word into outlines, the plugin copies your selection as clean SVG markup with live text preserved. This gives you a faster, higher fidelity workflow when building motion graphics or interactive content in Rive.

What is supported?

  1. Vector paths and shapes (rectangles, ellipses, polygons, lines, booleans are flattened to paths)
  2. Solid fills plus linear/radial gradients and opacity
  3. Strokes with width, caps, joins, and miter limits (uniform strokes)
  4. Basic transforms (position, rotation, scale), grouping, and simple single-layer clipping masks
  5. Artboard/group hierarchy depth that maps cleanly to SVG `<g>` groups
  6. Google Fonts referenced in text layers (imports as long as the font is available in Rive)

Partially supported

  1. Dashed strokes or variable-width strokes can be expanded to solid paths or lose dash patterns
  2. Nested or compound clipping masks can invert or flatten unexpectedly
  3. Text exports as `<text>` nodes; Rive drops most font styling, so alignment, spacing, and paragraph settings frequently change or are lost (outline text if layout must stay exact)
  4. Shadows/inner shadows export as SVG filters; Rive usually omits filters, so shapes render without those effects
  5. Component/instance metadata, constraints, and autolayout information are not represented in SVG

Not supported

  1. Background blur and layer blur (flatten to raster if needed)
  2. Blend modes beyond Normal on layers/groups
  3. Image fills or embedded rasters (`<image>` tags)
  4. Figma text layout features such as alignment, lists, and truncation (convert to outlines or rebuild text in Rive)

Tips for best results

  1. Keep strokes and fills simple; avoid dash patterns and advanced stroke profiles
  2. Flatten complex masks or effects before export
  3. Convert text to outlines when fidelity matters, or plan to recreate text directly in Rive
