Export SVG to Illustrator Editable Type

Stop outlining your text. Export Editable Type to Illustrator lets you export your Figma designs as SVG files with fully editable, live type — ready to open in Adobe Illustrator with every character still selectable, searchable, and editable. The problem: Figma's default SVG export outlines all text, converting every letter into vector paths. That means no more editing type in Illustrator — no font changes, no copy updates, no spell check. You're stuck. The fix: This plugin exports SVG with svg OutlineText disabled, preserving your text as real elements. Open the SVG in Illustrator and your type is live — edit fonts, change copy, adjust sizing, all without retracing a single letter.Features: Live editable type — Text exports as real text, not outlines. Edit freely in Illustrator.One-click export — Select a layer, pick SVG, hit Export. Done. • Layer IDs toggle — Optionally embed your Figma layer names as SVG ID attributes for organized Illustrator layers.Contents Only toggle — Export just the content inside a frame, without the frame's background fill or border.PDF export included — Need a PDF? Toggle the format dropdown. (Note: PDF always outlines text — this is an Adobe/Figma limitation, not a plugin limitation.)Lightweight & fast — No bloat, no accounts, no setup. Just export.Perfect for:Designers handing off to print production teamsPackaging designers moving between Figma and IllustratorAnyone who needs to edit text after exportTeams with Figma-to-Illustrator workflowsPart of the FigBoost suite — fast, focused tools for designers who value speed and simplicity.
