The Hexorcist: Colors to Variables & Dark Mode

Rules, not AI. The Hexorcist turns the hard-coded colors in your file into a variable system you keep: named color variables with Light and Dark modes, connected to every layer. Every suggestion comes with a reason, you review everything before it changes, and one Undo reverses the whole build.

It's not a recolored copy of your screens. The variables stay in your file after the plugin closes, and any frame can switch between Light and Dark in Figma's right-hand panel.

How it works1. Scan a frame, a page or the whole file. It finds every fill, stroke, text color, gradient and shadow, and changes nothing.

2. Review the plan. Near-identical colors, like #16181D and #17181D, are merged. Every color gets a role name such as text/secondary, with the reason it was chosen. Dark values are suggested, with text and icons adjusted to pass WCAG contrast. Rename, exclude or merge anything.

3. Fix contrast. Aim for WCAG AA or AAA. Every text and icon pair shows which levels it passes in Light and Dark, judged by its real text size, and one click moves a failing color to the closest color that passes.

4. Build. The plugin creates a collection of base colors and a collection of color roles with Light and Dark modes, then connects every layer. Already have a design system? Colors that match your variables link to them, with your approval, and new variables go into your own collections, in your groups and named your way. Nothing of yours is renamed or changed.

5. Flip any scanned frame to Dark to see it, then scan again to check nothing was missed.
